The British created a commission for the present political position in India in 1928. The Indian prohibited the Commission because it does not include any Indian in its membership, seeing this Lala Lajpat Rai led a non-violent protest against commission in a silent march, but the police-force responded with violence. The main-in charge of police, James A. Scott ordered the police to do lathi-charge on the protesters and personally beaten Lajpat Rai, who was critically injured in his head. After surviving long Lala Lajpat Rai died on 17 November 1928.
Bhagat Singh Death
Seeking the revenge for Lala Lajpat Rai?s death, Bhagat Singh decided to kill the British officer John Saunders, together with his friend Batukeshwar Dutt. On 8th April 1929, Bhagat and his friend take a fearless step to throw two bombs in Central Legislative Assembly; the smoke was totally filled in the legislative due to the two-bombs whilst shouting the slogan of Inqalab-Zindabad. Subsequently they were arrested and charged with the attempt to murder; while this period they gained much concentration due to a long-lasting 116 days fast. Throughout this period enough evidence for attempt to murder was fetched against it, finally they proved to be criminal and were handed for this activity. In spite of great pressure and numerous appeals by the political leaders, Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev and Rajguru were hanged in the early hours of 23rd March 1931, aged 23.
Other matter is that Gandhiji had an opportunity to stop the Bhagat Singh death sentence, but he avoids doing so. Gandhi?s followers quarreled that Gandhi may not have enough power to stop the execution, but argues that he did his best to keep Bhagat Singh?s alive.

Last Words by Bhagat Singh
The aim of life is no more to control the mind, but to develop it harmoniously; is not to achieve any salvation here after, but to make the best use of it here below; and not to realize truth, beauty and good only in contemplation, but also in the actual experience of daily life; social progress depends not upon the ennoblement of the few but on the enrichment of democracy; universal brotherhood can be achieved only when there is an equality of opportunity, opportunity for social, political and individual life ?
